WINTER will study 3 EU coal regions: Western Macedonia in Greece, Konin region in Poland and Ruhr area in Germany. With Western Macedonia and Konin region being in the early stages of coal transition, Ruhr area will provide useful insights and transformation strategies as a mature area in coal transition, with decades of experience.
